Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are a class of functionally related proteins that are involved in the folding and unfolding of other proteins. HSPs are a group of proteins that are produced in response to heat shock. When cells are subjected to high temperatures or other stresses, HSP expression rises. This increase in expression is controlled by transcription. Heat shock factor (HSF) is primarily responsible for the dramatic upregulation of the heat shock proteins, which is a crucial component of the heat shock response. Nearly every living thing, from bacteria to people, contains HSPs. Heat shock proteins seem to play a big part in the cardiovascular system. There have been reports of the roles of Hsp90, Hsp84, Hsp70, Hsp27, Hsp20, and alpha B crystallin in the cardiovasculature.
