One of the most deadly pathogens for primates is the filovirus. Lethal hemorrhagic fever is brought on by filoviruses in both humans and nonhuman primates. Marburgvirus, which includes different strains of the Lake Victoria marburgvirus (MARV), and Ebolavirus (EBOVs), which includes four species including Sudan ebolavirus (SEBOV), Zaire ebolavirus (ZEBOV), Ivory Coast ebolavirus (CIEBOV), and Reston ebolavirus (REBOV), as well as a tentative species Bundibugyo ebolavirus (BEBOV).
The infections typically spread throughout the body's organs and are frequently accompanied by bleeding. The virus can then spread from person to person after being transferred from an animal host to a human.
