Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are a class of functionally related proteins that are involved in the folding and unfolding of other proteins. HSPs are a group of proteins that are produced in response to heat shock. When cells experience high temperatures or other types of stress, HSP expression rises. Transcriptional regulation controls this increase in expression. One of the most important aspects of the heat shock response is the dramatic upregulation of the heat shock proteins, which is primarily brought on by the heat shock factor (HSF). From bacteria to people, HSPs are present in almost all living things. Heat shock proteins seem to have an important cardiovascular function. There have been reports of the roles of alpha B crystallin, Hsp90, Hsp84, Hsp70, Hsp27, and Hsp20 in the cardiovasculature.
