PAFR

PAFR

The platelet-activating factor receptor (PAFR) is a G-protein-coupled receptor involved in a wide variety of pathophysiological processes in addition to normal physiological ones. Platelet-activating factor (PAF), a phospholipid mediator of cell-to-cell communication with a variety of physiological effects, is what causes PAFR to react. Platelet-activating factor (PAF) binding stimulates the PAFR, which results in a variety of powerful biological activities and has a significant impact on anaphylaxis, endotoxic shock, allergic disorders, and acute inflammation. PAF, a strong and adaptable mediator of inflammation, is produced by a variety of cell types and tissues, but leukocytes in particular.
