Hippo (MST)

Hippo (MST)

Animal organ size is regulated by the Hippo signaling pathway, also referred to as the Salvador/Warts/Hippo (SWH) pathway, through the control of cell proliferation and apoptosis. The protein kinase Warts (Wts) is phosphorylated by Hpo in the Hippo pathway's core kinase cascade. Hpo is a protein kinase belonging to the Ste-20 family (also known as MST1/2 in mammals). Cell proliferation, apoptosis, and different stress reactions are among the cellular processes that this highly conserved group of serine/threonine kinases controls.
